The exhibition, designed to celebrate the heritage and future of Indian textiles on the occasion of India’s 75th year of Independence, is titled ‘Sutr Santati Then. Now. Next’ and runs until September 20, Good Earth announced on Facebook. For the exhibition, Good Earth designed the textiles and had them woven by a ninth generation master weaver of the Gyaser tradition.

“Inspired by the colours of Pahari miniatures, the iridescent palate also celebrates our love for the colours of India, representing, among others, the shades of a peacock, the lotus flower, and deodar and peepul trees,” Good Earth announced on Facebook. “The motif, derived from sacred Buddhist medallions of intertwined clouds, speaks to cultural confluence and our affinity for nature. Created in 2016 by head designer Asha Madan the Sarnath brocade is a display of our longstanding association with weavers in Benares, to revitalise a pivotal aspect of our cultural heritage.”

Good Earth is known for its use of traditional Indian textiles in both its clothing and homeware collections. The brand also recently announced that it has launched a curated festive wear edit at its Khan Market store featuring brands including Tilla and Sunira Designs among others.
