Godrej Consumer appoints Sudhir Sitapati as managing director, CEO

FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) has appointed Sudhir Sitapati as its new managing director and chief executive officer (CEO). Sitapati’s appointment at Godrej will be effective from October 18, 2021.
 

Sitapati had recently resigned as the executive director of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) after a stint of 22 years in various leadership roles.
 
Nisaba Godrej, who is currently the chairperson and managing director of GCPL will serve as executive chairperson post the appointment of Sitapati.

“The Board of Directors at its meeting has appointed Sudhir Sitapati as the managing director and CEO of the company for a period of five years with effect from October 18, 2021, subject to the approval of the shareholders in the ensuing annual general meeting," GCPL said in a BSE filing.
 
Commenting on the appointment, Nisaba Godrej said: "I am delighted to be welcoming Sudhir to Godrej. His significant experience and passion for building sustainable and profitable brands and businesses aligns very strongly with our purpose at GCPL."

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd is owned by the billion-dollar firm Godrej Group and has a strong presence in the personal care and cosmetics market.
