Global Fashion and Design Week holds third edition in Noida

Global Fashion and Design Week held its third edition at Noida’s Film City in Uttar Pradesh featuring international designers, seminars, and runway shows. The three day fashion event aimed to give new designers a platform and forge links between designers and garment exporters.

Close to 200 designers showcased their designs in Noida from April 17 to 19 at the AAFT School of Fashion And Design and the International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry’s Global Fashion and Design Week. The event saw showcases from international designers Lokendra Kumar Maurya from the Maldives, Shivani Solanki from Wales, Itika Jain from Egypt, Nishant Sharma and Trisha Singh from Hungary, Riya Jhinkwan from Iran, Vidit Jain from Fiji, Manisha Rawat from Malaysia, and Pragya Prajapati and Subhashree Debata from the Bahamas.

As part of the event, the Embassy of Vietnam in India organised a runway show for the country’s traditional Ao Dai long dress. The runway show featured Vietnamese models and designers and aimed to popularise Vietnamese culture and fashion in India.

The event also featured a number of seminars on fashion, film, and media as well as jewellery, textile, and furniture showcases. The event featured the launch of the book “Bazars of India” by Aastha Mittal and various events with diplomats, exporters, and designers.
