Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), the year-round agenda setting forum for the fashion sector, together with its knowledge partner, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), will launch a Pulse of the Fashion Industry report to provide a common baseline for sustainability in fashion at its flagship event, Copenhagen Fashion Summit, to be held on May 11, 2017, in Denmark.

The summit will take place at a Copenhagen theatre - Copenhagen Fashion Summit

The report follows the strong belief that the industry’s current environmental, social and ethical challenges represent both threats and immense, untapped value creation opportunities. The annual report will be the first of its kind to summarise where the industry stands today, advance the business case for sustainability and provide actionable recommendations for companies across the supply chain.

The Pulse of the Fashion Sector report is a foundational initiative of Global Fashion Agenda’s future work.

BCG partner and managing director Javier Seara said, “We all are aware of the negative aspects of the apparel industry - environmental and human. Now, all signs point to the readiness of the fashion world to tackle the ‘dark side’ of the industry. There is a clear case for change to transform the industry of style, beauty, waste and unfairness, into a positive story for all those involved in it - consumers, producers, workers, brands and the planet as a whole. BCG is very proud to partner with GFA on this topic to move the dialogue forward.”

Eva Kruse, CEO of GFA and Copenhagen Fashion Summit said, “To understand the most significant critical issues for our industry but also to track improvements - or setbacks - we are super exited to be able to launch this first ever report that takes the pulse on where we are as an industry and where we should put our attention, innovation, and investments to secure the future of our planet and our industry. We will publish the Pulse report every year, and thereby, be able to track developments.”
