GJEPC works to promote China trade, hosts delegation from Dongguan in Jaipur

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council met with a 20 member delegation from the Chinese Dongguan Hardware Jewellery Industry Association in Jaipur to promote mutual trade between the two nations.

As the GJEPC works to increase Indian jewellery exports and overall trade with India’s surrounding nations, the organisation’s chairman and senior representatives met with a delegation from Dongguan, China. The Chinese delegation was led by the president of the Dongguan Hardware Jewellery Industry Association, Mr Daniel and also included manufacturers and traders of artificial jewellery and machinery suppliers, the GJEPC posted on its website. 

The GJEPC’s chairman Pramod Kumar Agrawal introduced the Chinese delegation to the various initiatives created by the GJEPC to increase trade and spoke about new government tax rate cuts relevant to the sector. Both organisations shared that there was a lot of scope for collaboration in then future. The GJEPC’s Silver Jewellery Panel convenor Ram Babu Gupta and Coloured Gemstones Panel convenor Vijay Kedia also spoke at the event last week.

The GJEPC suggested that Chinese manufacturers set up 100% owned factories in any of India’s jewellery manufacturing hubs and suggested setting up meetings with Indian jewellery businesses for collaboration. The Chinese delegation also visited a number of gem and jewellery manufacturing units in Jaipur’s Sitapura Industrial Area during their visit.
