GJEPC to hold online business networking meet for UK jewellery retailers
The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council will hold an online ‘India- UK Business Networking Meet’ on September 28 with the aim of boosting jewellery trade between India and the UK.
The upcoming GJEPC webinar will be led by panel moderator David Brough and invites attendees to, “explore and identify new business opportunities with leading jewellery retailers/ wholesalers in UK,” the GJEPC announced on Instagram. The virtual meet will feature business representatives from the UK and India and discuss business opportunities ahead of the upcoming UK winter festive season.
The GJEPC’s recent Plain Gold Jewellery Virtual Buyer Seller Meet ran from September 21 to 24 online and the GJEPC reported strong international participation. UK jewellery businesses Punjab Jewellers, Pure Jewels, and PBL Jewellers took part along with businesses from countries including the UAE and New Zealand.
“GJEPC has been quick to adapt to the new normal and leverage the digital platform to organise Virtual BSMs, thus fulfilling the sourcing need of our international buyers during this pandemic,” said the GJEPC’s chairman Colin Shah, the GJEPC shared on its website. “The good news is that markets in the USA, China and Europe, Middle East and Eastern Asian nations are reopening and we are witnessing demand for gems and jewellery from these regions.”
“The introduction of a progressive e-commerce policy for the gems and jewellery sector is the need of the hour and we have been pursuing the government for the same,” said Shah. “This will make the industry more competitive in the international market and will help in faster recovery. I would like to thank our international buyers and exhibitors for their support and participation to make this Plain Gold Jewellery VBSM a grand success.”
