GJEPC to bring together over 450 international buyers at IGJS Dubai

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced that it expects over 450 international buyers from over 35 countries at its upcoming International Gem and Jewellery Show in Dubai this October.

The upcoming Dubai edition of IGJS will run from October 11 to 13 at the Grand Hyatt in Dubai and the GJEPC expects for it to follow on from the success of its recent Bengaluru trade show and boost growth in the international jewellery industry. The trade show is supported by the Government of India and the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, among others, and will feature over 80 exhibitor booths. 
 
“We are grateful that the UAE government has granted permission to GJEPC to hold IGJS at the Grand Hyatt in Dubai,” said GJEPC chairman Colin Shah, the GJEPC reported on its website. “The seemingly insatiable global demand for jewellery despite the pandemic has boosted Indian gem and jewellery exports through 2021 and we’re hopeful of finishing the year on a positive note.”

The GJEPC has high hopes for the trade show following what it describes as the “astounding success” of the recent Bengaluru edition of its IIJS Premiere trade show. The Dubai event will feature wholesalers, retailers, and importers from all sectors of the fine jewellery industry. 
 
“India has always been the key player at Middle East region contributing around 40% of jewellery exports from India, and Dubai is the jewellery gateway for the most strategic jewellery markets such as the Gulf countries, Russia, Eastern Europe, North and East Africa, India, Central Asia, South and East Asia,” said Shah.
 
To date, buyers from countries including Russia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Iran, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, UAE, the U.S., Nepal, Sri Lanka, UK, Pakistan, Egypt, France, Italy, Kuwait, and Oman, among others. The event will take place with full health and safety measures in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 as prescribed by the UAE government.
