The GJEPC Surat office plans to “keep the torch of knowledge and information burning,” during lockdown, the organisation announced on its website. As the GJEPC’s regular in-person knowledge sharing sessions are postponed until after lockdown is lifted and many jewellery businesses are facing an uncertain future, the organisation shared tips on how to use the current hiatus to formulate a long-term business plan.

For its first session, the GJEPC addressed ‘Strategy Design for the Long Term’. Concept Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Baroda’s CEO and managing director Nital Zaveri gave a presentation on the topic and advised businesses on how to plan for the future.

The theme of the second session, which took place on April 4, was ‘A Leader’s Role in Strategy Deployment’. Concept Business Solutions’ vice president Debasis Majmudar spoke about the changing paradigms of leadership and upcoming challenges in the industry.

The first session was attended by around 60 members of the gem and jewellery industry and the second session was attended by over 70. The participants were able to ask questions to gain personalised feedback during the online sessions.
