The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council registered 11,543 companies and over 21,130 visitors in the first phase of visitor registration for its India International Jewellery Show Premiere trade show.

The GJEPC launched phase two of its registration for the trade show on June 21, the traders’ body announced on Facebook. The trade show is scheduled to run from August 4 to 8 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai and will showcase fine jewellery from across India to a business-to-business audience from around the world.
The GJEPC retails its visitor tickets in phases, with each subsequent phase priced higher to encourage early sign ups. Phase two of visitor registration will run until August 2 and phase three will run from August 3 to 8, when the trade show has already launched. The GJEPC announced that two vaccine doses is mandatory for entry to the trade show’s 37th edition.
The GJEPC’s target for visitor registration for IIJS Premiere was at 30,000 in May. Featured product categories will include gold jewellery, diamond and gemstone jewellery, bridal jewellery, lightweight jewellery for everyday wear, and jewellery manufacturing machinery and allied trades.
The GJEPC’s IIJS Signature trade show, which ran in Mumbai in February this year, generated around Rs 5,000 crore in business dealings, according to the GJEPC. The trade show counted around 950 participating jewellery businesses.
