GJEPC promotes exports at seminar in Gujarat

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council promoted exports at a recent seminar in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The event drew a crowd of over 200 GJEPC members, showing keen industry interest in exports.

The seminar took place at the GJEPC’s Gujarat Regional Office on February 27 and focused on knowledge sharing on how to export small parcels of jewellery, the GJEPC announced on its website. The seminar also covered the numerous ways to avail benefits of the various initiatives that the GJEPC undertakes.
 
The event was run by the GJEPC’s regional chairman for Gujarat Vijay Mangukiya and was attended by the Jewellery Association of Ahmedabad’s president Jigar Soni and Shypmax’s president Vivek Sharma among other dignitaries. 

Mangukiya highlighted the latent potential of Ahmedabad for exporting diamond studded jewellery. He also spoke about the GJEPC’s work to collaborate with the official customs department with the aim of streamlining exports from the city. In his address, Soni thanked the GJEPC for offering solutions to concerns raised by the JAA.
 
The seminar also featured a discussion on the  government’s e-commerce policy and the challenges faced by the GJEPC to get the policy finalised in good time. The entire process of exporting small packages was gone through from the factory to end customer to empower exporters to send small packages of goods. 
 
The GJEPC took the event as an opportunity to promote upcoming jewellery trade show India International Jewellery Show Tritiya which will run in Bengaluru from March 17 to 20. Visitor registration for the event is ongoing and the trade show looks set to hold its largest edition in Bengaluru to date.
