GJEPC promotes exports at Jaipur and Delhi seminars

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council has collaborated with numerous organisations to promote jewellery exports at seminars for jewellery businesses. The GJEPC’s Regional Office in Delhi recently held an online seminar and the Jaipur Regional Office brought together jewellers for an e-commerce and export focused event. 

The GJEPC held its first webinar on the topic ‘How to Start Exports / E-Commerce Business of Gems and Jewellery’ for businesses in Delhi in partnership with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation, and the Foreign Post Office, Delhi, the GJEPC reported on its website. The online event saw attendance of 124 participants and speakers from various government agencies shared their knowledge on the topic. 
 
The online seminar was designed to guide participating jewellery entrepreneurs through the process of beginning to send small jewellery shipments abroad and launching e-commerce operations. Participants asked queries and were briefed on how to navigate the complexities of international jewellery trade.

The GJEPC’s Regional Office in Jaipur also recently held a seminar to promote exports and e-commerce. The GJEPC partnered with the Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association and representatives from eBay to share information about the benefits of retailing online. Targeting units in the Special Economic Zones and Export Promotion Industrial Park Zone, the seminar covered current policies, compliances, and the GJEPC’s plan to streamline the e-commerce route for jewellery exports.
