GJEPC promotes exports at Haryana outreach event

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s Delhi regional office partnered with a number of jewellery and trade organisations to promote exports at an outreach event in Haryana which welcomed over 75 participants.

The Export Outreach Programme saw participation from jewellery professionals from the Ambala region and its surroundings, the GJEPC announced on its website. The GJEPC was joined at the event by the Director General of Foreign Trade’s Export Credit Guarantee Corporation Limited and IDT Gemmological Worldwide Private Limited.
 
Attendees were informed on the latest developments to foreign trade policies and the benefits of exporting goods. IDT Gemmological Laboratories’ general manager for New Delhi Karol Bagh detailed the regulations demanding exporters get authenticity certification for their gemstones and diamonds and said that this policy is a positive for ensuring compliance in the industry. 
 
The event was also attended by the GJEPC’s north regional chairman Ashok Seth as well as the Sarafa Association Ambala City’s president, Sarafa Association Ambala Cantonment’s president, and Panipat’s joint director general for foreign trade among others. DGFT representatives spoke about government incentives available to jewellery exporters and ECGC representatives detailed safeguards put in place to protect overseas payments to exporters in the case of buyer defaults or geopolitical crises.
