GJEPC advocates for MSMEs at Sarafa Association Seminar in Jalgaon

The Sarafa Association held a seminar event to discuss issues relating to the jewellery industry in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, where the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council presented on schemes for micro, small, and medium enterprises.

The GJEPC helped to organise the seminar in Brahman Sabha and a number of its representatives presented on and discussed ways of helping the MSME sector to boost its jewellery exports. The event, co-hosted by Naik Brothers, also saw a team from Godrej Security Solutions discuss security in the gems and jewellery industry and explain various security systems and solutions developed for the industry. 

Mithilesh Pandey of the GJEPC spoke on various Central Government and GJEPC schemes intended to boost the MSME sector. Pandey spoke about the Parichay Card and the Swasthya Kosh which is intended to provide benefits for industry workers and has recently launched a mobile app.

The GJEPC representatives also presented on government benefits available to MSMEs including interest subvention, the Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme, the availability of financial assistance from the National Small Industries Corporation for participation in exhibitions in India and abroad, the ongoing construction of a modern Jewellery Park being set up in Navi Mumbai, and the upcoming India International Jewellery Show’s Signature edition. IIJS Signature will take place from February 13 to 16, 2020, in Mumbai.
