LVMH-owned beauty brand Givenchy Parfums has recently appointed Briton Thom Walker to the post of creative director of makeup. He will be in charge of developing new product lines, and will also act as creative director of the communication campaigns associated with these collections. Walker succeeds Nicolas Degennes, who left the post of creative director of makeup and colours at Givenchy Parfums in May 2021, a position he had held since 1999.

“We are delighted to start this collaboration with Thom. His knowledge of the world of fashion, his distinctive style and his innovative, natural approach to make-up are a perfect fit with Givenchy’s bold, sophisticated world of beauty. I am delighted that his talent and creativity will now be enriching our make-up business and contribute to its international success,” said Romain Spitzer, CEO of Givenchy Parfums, in a press release.

Walker was born in the north of England and was trained in Paris. He has collaborated with several international fashion and beauty brands while pursuing a freelance career. He has notably curated makeup for editorial articles by magazines like i-D and Dazed & Confused, as well as for the Italian, English and Chinese editions of Vogue. He has also worked with photographers such as Paolo Roversi, Sølve Sundsbø and Rafael Pavarotti, and collaborated with celebrities like actress Emma Watson and Spanish singer Rosalía.
