Gillette India net profit jumps 35 percent to Rs 310 crore for FY 21

Gillette India witnessed a 35 percent rise in its net profit at Rs 310 crore ($41.9 million) with a sales revenue of Rs 2,009 crore for the year ended June 30, 2021.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2021, the company’s sales stood at Rs 436 crore while its net profit for the quarter was Rs 28 crore.
 
Gillette attributed the rise in profit and revenue to strong sales, growth, productivity, and savings across categories. The grooming business recorded a double-digit growth during the year.

Commenting on the results, Madhusudan Gopalan, Gillette India Ltd managing director, in a statement said: “Since the outbreak of the pandemic, we have focused on protecting the health and safety of our people, serving the Indian consumers with our health and hygiene products, and supporting communities in need through our relief efforts. Despite a challenging market environment, we have delivered double-digit growth for the fourth consecutive quarter and the full year.
 
“Our strategy to focus on superiority and productivity, enabled by the resilience and agility of our organisation is driving balanced growth,” he added.
 
Gillette India is one of the leading fast-moving consumer goods firms in India with a strong presence in the grooming and oral care segments.
