Gillette India Q2 profit rises 6 percent to Rs 74 crore

Gillette India Limited (GIL) witnessed a 6 percent rise in its net profit to Rs 74 crore ($9 million) for the second quarter ended December 2022 while its revenue rose by 10 percent to Rs 619 crore.

The company’s total expenses during the October-December quarter were up 10 percent to Rs 515 crore.

Commenting on the results, LV Vaidyanathan, managing director at Gillette India Ltd in a statement said, “For the third consecutive quarter, we have delivered profitable growth in a challenging environment, driven by our integrated strategies of a focused product portfolio, superiority, productivity, constructive disruption, and an agile and accountable organization.”

“These strategies build on each other and have collectively aided us in driving and sustaining a strong momentum, thereby setting us up for sequential growth in the quarter. While cost and operating challenges continue in the near-term, we remain focused on our endeavor of driving a balanced top and bottom-line growth,” he added.

Gillette India is one of the leading fast-moving consumer goods firms in India with a strong presence in the grooming and oral care segment. It follows the July-June financial year.
