Gillette India Q1 net profit down 14 percent to Rs 82 crore

Gillette India’s net profit declined 14 percent to Rs 82 crore ($11.1 million) for the second quarter ended September 2021, as against a net profit of Rs 95 crore it reported in the year-ago period. The company follows the July-June financial year.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose 11 percent to Rs 573 crore, as against Rs 516 crore it reported in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
 
Gillette’s grooming segment recorded strong growth during the quarter contributing Rs 422 crore to the company’s overall revenue.

Commenting on the Q1 results, Madhusudan Gopalan, managing director of Gillette India, in a statement said: “In a challenging market environment and a higher base period, we have delivered double-digit sales growth. As the market continues to recover, we will continue to focus on our strategy of driving superiority and productivity, enabled by the strength of our organization and culture. These strategies have enabled us to deliver strong results as we navigate through the pandemic, and they remain the right strategies to deliver balanced top and bottom-line growth in future.”
