Gerry Weber approaches 800 million euros in sales

Gerry Weber never stops growing. The German group specialized in women's ready-to-wear announced an annual sales goal of 795 million euros versus 700 million from last year. During the first six months of its fiscal year 2011/2012, which began on November 1, the group has already seen its sales jump 10.5% to 376 million, with earnings at 47 million euros before interest and taxes.

The retail business now represents 35% of the group's operations. Gerry Weber acquired its compatriot Wissmach in March, sales of whose inventory brought in 6.1 million in the second quarter. Most importantly, the majority of the 200 Wissmach stores will shortly switch to the Gerry Weber label. Other good news is that the group definitely now has a presence on the U.S. market. Gerry Weber started up U.S. sales in January with shop-in-shops at Bloomingdale's, in two department stores in Atlanta and in Boca Raton, Florida. More openings are scheduled in the Dillard's chain. In total, international operations brought in more than 132 million euros in 6 months.
