German cosmetic brand BeYu eyes 300 India stores by 2018

German premium cosmetic brand BeYu from the Artdeco group is looking to launch 300 stores by end of financial year 2017-18. BeYu will launch 20 company-owned and 280 shop-in-shop stores out of the 300 proposed stores, a BeYu India spokesperson said.

“By the end of this year BeYu plans to have approximately 300 stores across cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata,” Ajay Ghooli, managing director, Kaunis Marketing Services was quoted in the Economic Times.

Kaunis, who is the India partner for BeYu, has tied up with retail chains including New U, Lifestyle, Health & Glow and Central to make the products available to the market.

Following the partnership, Kaunis will build BeYu’s presence in India to make its products available in all major cities.

“India holds the promise of being one of the fastest growing beauty markets. The Indian beauty market is pegged at INR 45,000 crore out of which color cosmetics is around 10-12%. The demand for premium beauty brands is growing and hence there is tremendous potential for cosmetic brands to enter and grow in our country,” said Ghooli.

BeYu entered Delhi in March’2017 in a partnership with Kaunis Marketing Services. The brand is looking to have its stores in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata among others.

Founded by Helmut Baurecht in Germany in 1999, BeYu is owned by the Artdeco cosmetic group. The company offers high quality cosmetics in the mid-price range. The brand currently offers approximately 500 cosmetic and eyewear products and has a presence in over 30 countries. The brand claims its products are dermatologically-tested and are paraben and fragrance free.
