Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini blends comfort with elegance for 'New Beginnings' at FDCI x LFW

Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini launched its latest collection ‘New Beginnings’ with a whimsical, romantic fashion film at Fashion Design Council of India x Lakme Fashion Week on Wednesday.

The brand’s fashion film showed a group of models gracefully wander across fields full of high grass and through rolling hills, accompanied by horses and all manner of greenery. The collection itself also had a nature-inspired theme with floral prints and motifs adorning lehengas and gowns designed to make a statement but also be comfortable to wear. The colour palette transitioned from bright pinks and prints to soft pastels, all with a thoroughly feminine feel. 
 
Notable pieces included lehenga blouses which were tailored like cropped motorcycle jackets and long gowns in bright monochrome hues with texture provided by delicate floral embellishments. Large puff sleeves and 3D floral appliqués added a romantic feel to the collection, which had a wide selection of pieces which could be either dressed up for a wedding or down for a more intimate event. 

The second phygital edition of FDCI x LFW launched on October 5 and runs until October 10, broadcast on the FDCI’s website and social media accounts including Facebook. The fashion week is sponsored by Nexa and Rise Worldwide and also features brands including Tarun Tahiliani, Gaurav Gupta, Arpita Mehta, and Naushad Ali, among others.
