Gaurav Gupta to open stores in Kolkata and Hyderabad

Designer Gaurav Gupta will open his first Kolkata and Hyderabad flagship stores in September and hold a number of pop-ups across India as he widens the scope of his brand.

Gupta, who runs flagship stores for his eponymous brand in Mumbai and New Delhi, will set up shop in Kolkata and Hyderabad this autumn, he told Vogue India. He will also take his brand on a pop-up tour around the country with dates to be announced. The large brick-and-mortar expansion mirrors the brand’s product line expansion as Gupta looks to take the brand beyond fashion for “a new timeless” design voice.

Gupta is known for his traditional and occasion wear couture and recently released his first ever complimentary jewellery collection, “Occasions Fine Jewellery”, during the India Couture Week.
After launching the jewellery line on the runway alongside his “Undercurrent” couture collection, Gupta released an opulent photo-series for the line on his social media, shot at the Samode Palace in Jaipur and titled “Infinitely GG”. 

“Couture need not go out in huge boxes anymore,” said Gupta about his vision for the future of the brand. “Be it clothes, jewellery or beyond, design needs to user-friendly, travel-friendly and packing-friendly. Which is why we will always champion present-day relevant solutions that are innovative yet wearable.”
