Designer Gaurav Gupta is this season’s LFW opener and will present his upcoming collection at Mumbai’s Royal Opera House on January 29. Gupta’s summer/ resort collection promises to showcase his signature drapery, folding, and modern structures as the collection’s name itself suggests.

The collection will feature dresses, pantsuits, sari gowns, lehengas, and evening wear using Benarasi brocade and hand-embroidered Chikankari, reported Vogue India. Gupta’s gravity-defying take on traditional wear will see him explore 3D flowers, origami folding, and fluid yet dynamic tailored structures. The colour palette will include yellow, rose, off-white, and powder blue for the summer season and crystal and Zardozi embroidery will add embellishment.

LFW’s official schedule will take place from January 30 and run for five days at Mumbai’s Jio Garden venue. The fashion week will conclude with a collection by the design duo Shantanu and Nikhil and will have a special focus on diamond jewellery design this season.
