Gaurav Gupta creates custom gown for US musician Lizzo

Couturier Gaurav Gupta created a custom scarlet gown for Lizzo. The American singer and musician wore the ‘Endless Swirl Gown’ on the poster for her HBO Max documentary ‘Lizzo- Live in Concert’. 

“Lizzo has always been this impeccable force to be reckoned with,” wrote Gupta on Facebook. “She is a true artist, and her talents have no bounds. I was thrilled to dress her for her new documentary which gives her audience an intimate access to her meteoric rise.”
 
Lizzo was styled by Jason Rembert in Gupta’s gown for the documentary promotions. The whole process of designing the gown and bringing it to life was chronicled in a video shot by Pranav Goswamy, featuring Gupta himself at work on the dress. 

Lizzo’s custom gown is a rich, scarlet hue and is a continuation of the designs in Gupta’s latest collection ‘Scarlet Fascinations’. With dramatic, sculptural frills and delicate beaded embellishments, the gown mixes Gupta’s signature modern opulence with Lizzo’s vivacious character. 
 
A household name in Indian couture, Gupta has grown a significant celebrity follower base in the US and beyond in recent years. International celebrities who have recently worn Gaurav Gupta creations to events include Bebe Rexha, Bingbing Fan, Kylie Minogue, Jeremy Pope, Maluma, and Meghan Thee Stallion among others.
 
The designer will showcase his latest couture collection as part of Paris Haute Couture Week on January 26, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode announced on its website. The show will take place at an invitation-only event and will also be live-streamed.
