GJSCI appoints Adil Kotwal as chairman

The Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India’s board members have elected Adil Kotwal as the organisation’s new chairman. Kotwal will serve a four year term at the head of the GJSCI and will succeed previous chairman Sanjay Kothari.

New GJSCI chairman Adil Kothwal will step into his new role, effective immediately. Kotwal was previously managing director of the creation of jewellery at the organisation, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website.  
 
“During these four years in spite of the pandemic, for almost two years GJSCI could do its bit for the betterment of the industry, which has been due to the support and cooperation from the board members, industry stalwarts and above all by the secretariat under the able leadership of ED and CEO, Rajeev Garg. I extend my gratitude to all,” said previous chairman Sanjay Kothari, the GJEPC reported. 

Kothari was elected as GJSCI chairman in October, 2018 and has completed his four years at the helm of the organisation. Kothari achieved a number of milestones during his time in the role including creating JADE, a Centre for Jewellery Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Excellence, an institute focusing on AI and machine learning. Kothari also organised the India Jewellery Excellence Symposium to bring together jewellery experts from around the world among other initiatives.
