The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council will promote and celebrate women jewellery designers and entrepreneurs at its upcoming India International Jewellery Show Signature with an 'Experience Zone'.

The GJEPC and WJA India will highlight the work of women jewellers and entrepreneurs at the upcoming IIJS Signature - Women’s Jewellery Association- Facebook

The space dedicated to women in the jewellery industry will be facilitated by the Women’s Jewellery Association and run throughout the duration of the IIJS Signature 2020 trade show in Mumbai from February 13 to 16. Women designers and entrepreneurs who wish to participate in the trade show will also be offered concessional rates in order to encourage attendance, the GJEPC announced on its website.

“It was noted that discussions on various platforms had time and again highlighted the need to provide opportunities to designers… and women entrepreneurs,” announced the GJEPC on its website. “Now, this is being given concrete shape, through a well designed pavilion to accommodate applicants from these categories.”

Participants will be selected by a team of industry professionals put together by the GJEPC. The India chapter of the international WJA aims to use this opportunity to display the talents of India’s women entrepreneurs to an Indian and international audience.

The WJA was founded in 1983 and works to empower women in the international jewellery industry by offering support and scholarships in the field. The organisation is headquartered in New York, US, and has 13 regional chapters including its India chapter.
