The recent GJEPC Kolkata regional meet gave jewellery exporters the chance to speak with a member of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, economic adviser for the Department of Commerce, Rupa Dutta, to discuss the industry, wrote the GJEPC on its website.

Exporters from India’s eastern region voiced their concerns and suggested steps the ministry could take to increase exports from the area.

The Union Government is working to increase exports across a number of industries including jewellery with its “Make in India” campaign. With the same aim, the GJEPC is holding promotions for its India International Jewellery Show Signature, which will take place from February 13 to 16, 2020 in Mumbai.

The GJEPC held a promotional event in Raipur on December 11 to encourage jewellery businesses to participate in the fair.

The organisation will hold over 100 roadshows across India to promote the trade show, which aims to link Indian jewellery businesses with domestic and international buyers.
