The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council held two seminars in Jabalpur, one for artisans and one for jewellers, to boost the area’s micro, small, and medium enterprise sector and encourage out-of-state exports.
In addition to the seminars, the organisation also spoke about its own initiatives for the gem and jewellery industry and had a large trade attendance, the GJEPC posted on its website.
MSME ministers participated in the event and spoke about Union Government policies for the sector as well as promotional schemes for small units. Speakers included MSME assistant manager for Indore Nilesh Trivedi; State Bank of India manager Naveen Bhaskar; Rashmi Gupta of Jabalpur’s Hall Marking Centre; and a representative from Godrej.
The GJEPC’s Mithilesh Pandey spoke about the Parichay Card, Swasthya Ratna, and Swasthya Kosh for health insurance initiatives and encouraged businesses to join the council. MSME officials encouraged businesses to begin exporting jewellery from the district and suggested that at least 10 members commit to starting such exports. The event was organised with the Sarafa Association, Jabalpur.
