The GJEPC partnered with the Mumbai Suvarnakar Sangh and the Mumbai Wholesale Gold Jewellers Association to hold an MSME seminar on September 23, the GJEPC reported on its website.

The event took place at Vimal Hall in Mumbai’s Zaveri Bazaar and aimed to instruct MSMEs on how to best avail gains from the government’s schemes for the sector.

The event covered GST, MSME and National Small Industries Corporation schemes, banking procedures and documentation, and the GJEPC’s Health Insurance and Parichay Card schemes. The GJEPC’s exhibitions convenor Mansukh Kothari addressed the participating MSMEs and Universal Connections’ Ajit Shah spoke on the importance of clean bookkeeping to best facilitate online returns and be eligible for schemes.

The GJEPC’s Mithilesh Pandey, Godrej’s Amol B. Gudadhe, and Edelweiss Insurance Brokers Limited’s Tanmay Bandodkar also spoke at the event.

The Union Government is currently concentrating on boosting India’s MSME sector, as it sees the industry's potential in fuelling the country’s next wave of economic growth. As the jewellery MSME sector has recently been experiencing a slowdown, the GJEPC is working to support businesses and encourage growth.
