From December 16 to 21, 2019, the GJEPC held a training program under the title 'Kaushalyam, Committed to Excellence', the GJEPC announced on its website. The training was conducted by the GJEPC’s knowledge partner, the Indian Diamond Institute, and featured theory and hands on practice on how to grade-polished diamonds.

A total of 41 participants in two batches were trained in Vadodara, where they received certificates from the GJEPC regional director for Gujarat. Following the training, the Vadodara Jewellers Association hosted a traders’ meet to discuss the jewellery industry in the region.

The GJEPC also attended the Shri Surendranagar Sona Chandi Association’s annual function in the region.

GJEPC senior executive Kishan Detroja gave a presentation to 200 guests at the event on the organisation’s aims and projects and promoted a number of the GJEPC’s initiatives to jewellers.

As India’s diamond industry experiences a slowdown, the GJEPC is working to promote domestic diamond businesses and exporters abroad. The organisation works alongside the Union Government’s “Make in India” initiative.
