On December 6, the GJEPC travelled to Thane on the outskirts of Mumbai to mentor entrepreneurs and promote membership of its organisation. The GJEPC encouraged businesses to join the fast-growing organised segment of the jewellery industry and to participate in domestic and international exhibitions to expand their distribution networks, the GJEPC reported on its website.

The GJEPC also joined Kalwa-based organisation Daiwadnya Suvarnkar Kalakar Maghi Ganeshotsav Mandal at the event to train the MSME entrepreneurs, as part of its work towards organising the fine jewellery industry and boosting business. The organisations trained MSME entrepreneurs on how to register their karigars as well as how to create a Parichay Card.

By sharing information on subsidies, grants, and loans available to jewellery MSMEs, the GJEPC aims to help businesses to avail financial incentives available to them to help them recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and expand into new markets. The GJEPC disseminated information on discounts on jewellery machinery, technology and infrastructure support, and its memorandum of understanding with businesses including Ebay, Godrej, and Yes Bank.
