GCPL Q4 net profit jumps 59 percent to Rs 366 crore

FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) reported a 59 percent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 366 crore ($50 million) for the fourth quarter ended March 2021, as against a net profit of Rs 230 crore in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue for the quarter was up 27 percent to Rs 2,706 crore, as against Rs 2,133 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal year.
 
For the fiscal year 2020-21, GCPL's net profit was up 15 percent at Rs 1,720.82 crore as compared to last fiscal’s Rs 1,497 crore while its revenue grew by 11 percent to Rs 10,936 crore from last fiscal’s Rs 9,826.

Commenting on the results, Nisaba Godrej, chairperson and managing director of GCPL, in a statement said: “We delivered a third consecutive quarter of double-digit sales growth. Consolidated sales grew by 27 percent and EBITDA grew by 21 percent. We remain confident of leveraging growth opportunities to drive sustainable, profitable sales growth across our portfolio in FY 2022.”
 
“We will continue to carefully navigate the challenges of the second wave of Covid-19 in India by ensuring seamless supply chain deliveries, and closely tracking shifts in consumer behaviour to respond to,” Godrej added.
 
Godrej Consumer had earlier announced the appointment of Sudhir Sitapati as its new managing director and chief executive officer.
