G-III Apparel Group announced on Friday that it has appointed Jimmy Reilly as design director of men’s outerwear for Karl Lagerfeld.

Reilly heads to G-III Apparel from Rogue where he served as principal and creative director. At Karl Lagerfeld, he will be in charge of men’s outerwear, and his first collection will release this fall.

The New York-based designer previously worked with G-III Apparel on outerwear product development concurrently with his own line Rogue, which he launched in 1999. Rogue began as a collection of outerwear inspired by racing before expanding to a full sportswear line.

The apparel company announced last week that it has taken a 19 percent stake in the Karl Lagerfeld brand. In June 2015, the two companies created a joint venture to develop Chanel’s artistic director’s eponymous brand in the US, Canada and Mexico. G-III Apparel earned a 49 percent interest of the brand as per the agreement.
