Big Bazaar is targeting tech savvy customers with Smart Search and offering exclusive offers to them in the form of discount coupons from the company which can be redeemed across its network of Big Bazaar stores throughout India.

The campaign has been conceptualised by Ignition Labs, the creative solution team of Google India and the offer is available for search users on one day in the first weekend of each month, the company said in a statement.

“At Future Group, we believe in being a part of the consumer journey at every point in time, so our idea was to be relevant to our customer in their search journey. Smart Search has helped us translate the customer’s intent into a purchase at our stores and has definitely helped us acquire newer & younger customers,” said Pawan Sarda, group head of digital at Future Group.

“Smart Search is based on the growing trend where consumers start their shopping journey with Google, even if they decide to purchase offline. Big Bazaar and Google came together to conceptualize this innovative campaign, ultimately driving trackable offline footfalls and sales,” said Nitin Bawankule, industry director at Google India.

Future Group is aiming to reach a turnover of $15 billion in the next 5 years from the current $3.5 billion. It is using innovative campaigns like Smart Search to get influential customers to its physical stores in order to boost sales.

Big Bazaar currently has 287 retail outlets across the country.
