Future Group appoints Hardeep Singh as CEO of 7-Eleven stores in India

Future Group has appointed Hardeep Singh as the chief executive officer for its franchise business of 7-Eleven stores across India.

Future Group is the master franchisee for 7-Eleven convenience stores in India and plans to expand the brand throughout the country after signing a 30 year contract with the business. Hardeep Singh will head the business’ expansion in his new role as CEO of 7-Eleven.

Singh first joined Future Group in 2018 when it acquired Vulcan Express of which Singh is the founder. Singh has two decades of experience in the retail sector and has also worked with Walmart India and Indian Railways. 

Future Group’s head Kishore Biyani said in a statement that Singh "will be a critical part of growing our food and FMCG brands and bringing new services, formats and conveniences for our customers. An effective supply chain and distribution setup will define the future of a retail format like 7-Eleven."

7-Eleven is Japanese-owned and has its headquarters in the US. The convenience store chain has over 67,000 stores worldwide and retails personal care and grocery products. Biyani’s Future Retail runs 1,444 stores in 409 Indian cities and also runs the brands Easy Day, Nilgiri’s, and Heritage Retail. Future Group plans to add around 10,000 small retail outlets in India in the next few years.
