The 24th edition of the Young International Designers' Festival (Le Festival des Jeunes Créateurs de Mode)  will take place in the Breton city of Dinan, France for a third consecutive year, April 13 to 15, 2018. And presided over the jury is designer Frank Sorbier, the director of his namesake fashion house in Paris.

Making up his team, specialised jurors (including journalists, photographers, designers and other professionals) will choose who will win the top prizes for men's, women's and lingerie categories, as well as which participants will take home the special Gavotte, Avantex and Eco-TLC prizes. Overall, 12 candidates will compete for the various awards, which are sponsored by the city of Dinan, sector trade shows and fashion and beauty brands.

To impress the jury, participants have been asked to create a seven-piece collection, to be shown across three different places in the city, before presenting inside the Jacobins Theatres on April 14.

As part of the festival, which assumes a notable eco-responsible faction with the Eco-TLC price pushing fashion sustainability, eight young Dinan designers, aged 12-17 years old, are taking part in an up-cycling theme in partnership with local community social centre L’Atelier du 5 bis.

From the collected materials, students will prepare a series of pieces which will also be displayed inside the Jacobins Theatre. And who knows, among the group could be the next Young International Designers' Festival winner for 2028.
