Natural skincare brand Forest Essentials has expanded its product selection with its first line of lepas, Ayurvedic skincare remedies.

Forest Essentials products are made with natural ingredients, according to the brand - Forest Essentials- Facebook

Forest Essentials has taken an Ayurvedic tradition and turned it into a luxury skincare product, the brand announced on Facebook to launch its new line. Facial lepas are part of the ‘shamana’ tradition in Ayurveda which involves blending pastes with essential oils and herbs to address various skin issues.

“In today’s hustling world one finds little time to press pause and indulge in self-care,” Forest Essentials announced on Facebook to launch the line. “As much as we’d like to go back to our grandmother’s ancient recipes and craft a hand-pounded masque with the freshest ingredients of the season, we have little time to do so. So, in the lack of being able to do that, Forest Essentials brings to you a ‘next-to-best’ option – Varnya Lepas.”

The line features three lepas designed to address specific skin concerns. The ‘Haldi Varnya Lepa’ is designed to replenish and illuminate, the ‘Neem Varnya Lepa’ is designed to target acne and pigmentation, and the ‘Chandan Varnya Lepa’ is designed to tone, firm, and replenish.

Mira Kulkarni launched Forest Essentials as a luxury, natural skincare brand, motivated by the idea of ‘Make in India’. As of 2022, the brand has 80 brick-and-mortar stores across India. The band recently opened its first store in the UK marking its foray into international retail.
