Melissa’s first Indian flagship store boasts 1,454 square feet of retail space and is located in New Delhi’s DLF Promenade Mall which is also home to international fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Aldo, Forever 21, and Promod. The store opened with an event where the Bollywood star Vaani Kapoor was the special guest and the brand’s latest collection was showcased.

Melissa has been brought to India with Enviably Me India Pvt. Ltd. as its exclusive franchisee. The brand has two more brick and mortar store launches planned for 2018, one more in New Delhi and one in Mumbai.

“The new Melissa flagship store gives us the opportunity to tap into the Indian retail space with a new and innovative fashion product,” said the Managing Director of Enviably Me, Ruchi Sally, at the store opening. “We are a one of a kind brand, dealing in eco-friendly 100 percent recyclable shoes, made of specially-developed Melflex plastic… We might be new to the India market but for the fans of Melissa who are there in India, it’s not new.”

Melissa was founded in Brazil in 1979 and is now present in over 90 countries worldwide. The brand has created shoes together with the Campana brothers since 2004 and has created a series of collaborative collections including with the architect Zaha Hadid and Jean Paul-Gaultier. Since 2014, the brand has been headquartered in Covent Garden, London, UK.
