Flipkart tops best employers list, Amazon second

Walmart-owned online marketplace Flipkart has got another win over its rival Amazon, this time for the most preferred workplace in India.
 

Flipkart, which owns fashion e-commerce portals Myntra and Jabong, emerged as the most desired employer where Indian professionals want to work, according to a new LinkedIn report. Flipkart was followed by Amazon India, in the second spot.
 
The other e-commerce and fashion retail firms that featured in the top 10 of LinkedIn's fourth edition of the '2019 Top Companies' list for India were Paytm’s parent firm One97 Communications and Reliance Industries in the fourth and 10th spots respectively.

"This year, half the companies are new entrants on the list, including IT giants such as TCS and IBM that showcase the changing job and hiring landscape," LinkedIn India managing editor Adith Charlie said in a statement.
 
"The presence of more blue-chip Indian companies such as Reliance Industries, among others emphasises the fact that these large firms are getting better at attracting millennials employees,” Charlie added
 
LinkedIn said it analysed billions of data points generated by the network’s over 610 million members around the world.
 
The companies were ranked based on four criteria -- interest in the company, engagement with employees, job demand and employee retention.
