Flipkart to host 'Big Billion Days' sale from October 16
Walmart-owned Flipkart will host its annual 'The Big Billion Days' sale from October 16-21. The six-day sale event will provide a platform to MSMEs and sellers across the country, to sell their products to millions of shoppers amid Covid-19 disruptions.
Flipkart is betting big on its sale event to drive sales ahead of the festive season and has on boarded thousands of new sellers over the last few months on its platform. It claims that the sale-event will create over 70,000 direct, and lakhs of indirect, seasonal jobs.
The company has also invested heavily in technology and infrastructure development for faster deliveries during the sale event.
"This festive event continues to focus on Flipkart's commitment to provide value for consumers, opportunities for growth for MSMEs and sellers, and employment generation through e-commerce," Flipkart group CEO, Kalyan Krishnamurthy, said in a statement.
“Through strong partnerships with brands and sellers, Flipkart has tapped into the power of interconnected businesses and technology to bring consumers a wide range of products at great prices at their doorsteps this festive season,” he added.
To promote the sale event through campaigns across platforms, Flipkart is working with celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Virat Kohli, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Sudeep Kiccha, and Mahesh Babu.
