Flipkart’s Phonepe launches ‘Stores’ feature for essential goods - Phonepe

The new feature on the Phonepe platform will let customers know about the operational stores doing home deliveries in their areas, through which they can place their orders for contactless payment and delivery.

Phonepe claims that the launch of these features on the platform has resulted in a three-fold increase in activity on the ‘Stores’ page and a 50 percent rise in daily traffic.

Talking about the new initiative, Vivek Lohcheb vice president offline business development at Phonepe in a statement said: “The company has a unique offering called ‘Stores’ on its platform where over 10 million of the merchant partners are listed. During the lockdown, customers want to know which shops are actually open and home delivering. We have solved this by introducing two filters in the Stores section ‘currently operational’ and ‘home delivery’.”

“We have also introduced the ‘Pay Now’ feature on the Stores page which enables customers to make the payment remotely from within the Phonepe app without the need for scanning any QR. We believe this will be a win-win for both our merchants and customers,” he added.

At present, Phonepe is present in more than 150 cities across India and claims to have over 150 million bank accounts linked on its platform.
