Flipkart’s HR chief and senior vice president Smriti Singh quits

Walmart owned e-commerce platform Flipkart saw a top-level exit with its senior vice president and chief HR officer Smriti Singh deciding to move on from the company.
Singh exit’s Flipkart after a short stint of almost one year. She was reporting directly to the company’s CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy and was responsible for people, talent, rewards, learning and development.
Flipkart has managed to retain its senior executives post the Walmart deal and Singh’s departure is one of the first senior leadership exits after Ananth Narayanan, CEO of Myntra, a post which was eventually scrapped by the company.
“Smriti Singh, senior vice president and chief HR officer at Flipkart, has quit after a nearly one-year stint. She has helped set the right direction for people and culture initiatives that will serve us well in the future... We thank her for the commitment and dedication to the company,” Economic Times reported citing Krishnamurthy’s email to employees.
Flipkart has been strengthening its leadership team and had recently appointed five new vice presidents. The new vice presidents were Saurabh Tandon from the engineering department; 2Gud head Chanakya Gupta; Nishit Garg; Big Billion Days planning head Nandita Sinha; and BBD tech architecture head Regunath B.
