“Our customer grew six times during the TBBD as well as orders,” Flipkart’s new business head and senior vice president Adarsh Menon told the Press Trust of India. “Almost 65% of the orders came from Tier 2 and below towns. Around 75% of orders came through the selection of products that Shopsy has. Between July to September 2022, Shopsy has grown two times in the overall customer base and units sold further strengthening its presence across the country.”

Shopsy operates a dedicated shopping app which crossed the 1 million app download mark in July thus year. Of the business’ app users, around 80% visited the Shopsy e-commerce platform during the sale period, according to Menon.

Flipkart launched Shopsy as a social commerce platform to tap into the rising trend for social commerce amongst non-metro consumers. The business uses Flipkart’s resources and promotes sales of low priced products with the aim of reaching buyers in small towns and penetrating rural India.
