Flipkart ramps up private brands, sellers for its Big Billion Days sale

Flipkart, India’s leading e-commerce marketplace has scaled up its private-label offerings and sellers across all categories as it gets ready to host its flagship event ‘Big Billion Days’ sale.

The six-day sale event will be held from September 29 to October 4. The e-commerce portal will give four-hour early access to its Flipkart Plus consumers during the sale.
 
Flipkart will offer over 10,000 products under 200 categories from its private brands. Apart from its private labels, this year for the first time, artisans, weavers, and craftsmen from across India will sell their products through Flipkart Samarth.

Commenting on the sale event, Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO at Flipkart Group in a statement said, “Every year, The Big Billion Days marks the beginning of India’s festive season and we set out to deliver the best possible experience for our consumers and our lakhs of sellers. This year, more than ever, we are partnering with brands, MSMEs, sellers, and artisans to deliver unparalleled selection and user experience to our consumers.”
 
Over the last few months, Flipkart has further strengthened its presence in tier 2 and 3 towns by onboarding new sellers which will help it expedite deliveries to all pin codes across India.
 
To promote the sale event, Flipkart has partnered with Bollywood and sports personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Virat Kohli, and MS Dhoni, among others.
