Flipkart partners with Authentic Brands to manage Nautica in India

Walmart-owned Flipkart group has got into an agreement with Authentic Brands to acquire the licensing and distribution rights for apparel brand Nautica in the Indian market.

Flipkart will have the exclusive rights to Nautica in India and plans to manage the offline business through franchisees. The brand will be sold online on Flipkart and its fashion platforms Myntra and Jabong.
 
Nautica is banking on this partnership to expand its reach in the Indian market. Flipkart, on the other hand, has big plans for Nautica in India and plans to launch exclusive lines to cater to Indian customers.

Commenting on the partnership, Rishi Vasudev head of fashion at Flipkart in a statement said, “We aim to grow Nautica’s business in India and offer consumers the best shopping experience by integrating our technology expertise across various consumer touch points.”
 
Jamie Salter, founder and CEO of Authentic Brands Group added, “Flipkart group will provide Nautica access to over 160 million consumers. In addition to extensive market reach, Flipkart brings a high degree of technological capabilities, making them an ideal partner for Nautica.”
 
Nautica is an American lifestyle brand that makes apparel for men, women, and children. It also sells accessories and home products. It currently has more than 40 retail stores in India.
