Oct 1, 2021
E-commerce major Flipkart has strengthened its network of sellers by onboarding around over 5,000 offline branded retail stores from more than 300 cities in India to its marketplace ahead of its festive season sale.
With the addition of the retail stores, Flipkart expects strong sales across sectors during its Big Billion Days sale event and expects to move to benefit sellers amid the Covid disruptions.
Going forward, Flipkart plans to further strengthen its network by onboarding 10,000 branded retail stores on its marketplace by the end of the year. It aims to have a total of 4.2 lakh sellers on its platform by December 2021.
“Today, we are proud to facilitate pan-India consumer market access for over 5,000 branded retail stores, which enables them to embrace opportunities driven by the best technology. We look forward to scaling this programme over the next few months,” in a statement said Rajneesh Kumar chief corporate affairs officer at Flipkart Group.
Flipkart will be hosting its sale event from October 3, which will see participation by over 1 lakh kiranas, and more than 3,75,000 sellers from across India.
