Walmart-owned e-commerce firm Flipkart has launched a smart assistive interface feature called 'Saathi' to help first-time online shoppers and enhance the shopping experience of its customers on the platform.
Flipkart’s Saathi feature will be available in text and voice interface. It includes key actions in the form of pop-up texts followed by audio, to help users to understand and follow the instructions.
The new feature is targeted at customers across tier 2, 3 cities and beyond in rural India, who are still new to online shopping.
Commenting on the Saathi feature, Kalyan Krishnamurthy group chief executive officer at Flipkart in the statement: “Flipkart is committed to bringing the next 200 million consumers online and solving for that in every possible manner. This personalisation of technology is a key element of our vision for Bharat and all our innovations are centred on this. As 80-90 percent of our resources are devoted towards building the ecosystem for Bharat, we are confident of such initiatives bringing about a massive change in our efforts to democratise e-commerce in India.”
Jeyandran Venugopal, chief technology officer at Flipkart added: "Through the combination of cutting-edge tech with our robust understanding of the diverse consumer base in India, the Flipkart team has created an offering to simplify e-commerce.”
Flipkart has been making heavy investments across all verticals to enhance customer experience. In September, it had launched a Hindi interface to boost its customer acquisition process across the country.
