Flipkart has partnered with over 15 brands to create around 100 virtual products for its initial launch of Flipverse, ET Tech reported. Brands which will retail virtual products on the platform in the first phase include Puma, Noise, Ajmal Perfumes, Nivea, Lavie, Tokyo Talkies, Campus, Himalaya, and Butterfly India.

“The future growth of e-commerce will be influenced by the immersive technologies of today, and Metaverse is one of the significant revolutions in this area with immense potential,” said Flipkart Labs’ vice president and head of product strategy and deployment Naren Ravula, ET Bureau reported.

To launch Flipverse, the business has partnered with Web3 companies including Polygon, Guardian Link, and eDao. For the initial phase of the project, brands will display products, offers, and collectibles in digital product categories including fashion, cosmetics, wearable electronics, and sportswear among others.

The Flipverse will initially be accessible to Android phone users. The business recently gave a taster of this technology at the end of its 10-day festive sale and gave shoppers access to digital collectibles.
