The new data centre, which is Flipkart’s second in the country, has been built in partnership with software major CtrlS with an aim to strengthen its e-commerce business in India.

Flipkart is confident that the latest investment in technology will help increase its seller base and help it cater to more consumers in the country.

Flipkart currently has over two lakh registered sellers on its platform with majority of them selling fashion products on the platform.

Commenting on the datacentre, Flipkart's chief corporate affairs officer Rajneesh Kumar said: “In the growing company's e-commerce business datacentres play a critical role in serving sellers and customers better, as well as ensuring business continuity. Our new datacentre at Hyderabad is a testimony of our investment in the ecosystem and the state.

We recognise the tremendous opportunity for sustained data-driven transformation in India. We are determined to continue growing the business and create a viable ecosystem for MSMEs, local manufacturers and in the process create quality local jobs," he added.

The Hyderabad data centre is Flipkart’s second in the country. It had opened its first centre in the neighbouring state of Telangana.
