Flipkart Group’s CFO Emily McNeal leaves the business

Flipkart Group’s chief financial officer Emily McNeal has stepped down from her role and left the business after joining in 2018.

McNeal has quit e-commerce giant Flipkart Group after joining the business as part of Walmart’s acquisition of Flipkart, two sources told the Economic Times. Prior to her role at Flipkart, McNeal was Walmart’s mergers and acquisitions head. She joined Flipkart Group as senior vice-president and chief financial officer in September 2018.
 
Following McNeal’s departure, Flipkart Group’s Sriram Venkataraman is expected to take over as chief financial officer at Flipkart and Myntra, according to the sources. Venkataraman will share responsibilities with Adarsh Nahata, who is currently chief financial officer of PhonePe and both executives will report to Walmart International’s chief financial officer Chris Nicholas, they said.

“Venkataraman will have a dual reporting to Flipkart group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy while Nahata will follow the same structure at PhonePe with a second line of reporting to Sameer Nigam, the co-founder and CEO of the digital payments firm,” an anonymous source close to the matter told the Economic Times. 
 
Flipkart is currently sharing various charitable initiatives undertaken by citizens across India on its Facebook page with the aim of keeping its customers motivated and engaged. The business is also sharing games and tips for lockdown activities.
