Flipkart Wholesale’s app has witnessed 75% month-on-month growth in its customer base since it launched in September this year with an increasing number of customers based in Tier 2 or 3 cities.

Flipkart Wholesale is continuing to expand its operations across India - Flipkart

“Flipkart Wholesale app records 75% month-on-month growth in customer base and over 95% are from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across nine states in the country,” Flipkart Wholesale said in a statement, the Press Trust of India reported.

Flipkart Wholesale is a business-to-business operation which retails a range of products with a focus on apparel, accessories, and footwear. The business operates in 23 Indian cities where it has seen 90% month-on-month growth in transactions.

“We have consistently worked towards creating an ecosystem that serves kiranas' growing needs and helping Indian MSMEs access the pan-India market more effectively and we will step up our efforts in the coming year as well,” said Flipkart Wholesale and Walmart India’s senior vice president and head Adarsh Menon, the Press Trust of India reported.

Flipkart Group, owned by Walmart, runs business-to-business segments Flipkart Wholesale and Best Price Cash and Carry. Both businesses have seen increased online uptake this year due in part to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
